Mrs. Polke was born at Harper, Iowa, on December 25th, 1859. She was united in marriage to John H. Polke October 13, 1882. They moved from DeSoto, Iowa, to a farm in Ashley Township in 1930, and moved into Sauk Centre in 1937.
Besides the bereaved husband, there are four surviving sons and two grandchildren. The sons are: John Polke of DeSoto, Iowa; William Polke, of Adel, Iowa; Clarence Polke, of Norwalk, Iowa; August Polke, of Sauk Centre. The sons and their families, besides other relatives and friends were present at the last sad rites.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Sauk Centre Funeral Chapel at two o'clock. Rev. M. L. Brann, of the Methodist Church, was the pastor. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery.
