Richard Corbin Merrell was the son of the late Richard Darwin Merrell and Helen Corbin Merrell. Richard is survived by his wife, Elva Helen Elderkin Merrell and their four children: Scott Merrell and his wife Cheryl; Kathryn Ellis and her husband Gerald; Stuart and Mark Merrell, and seven grandchildren: Jeanette and her husband Mike, Beth-Anne, Matthew Staso, Robert and Michael Ellis, and Ryan and Kyle Merrell.
