Alyn Kirk Chief, 26, of Wyola went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 17, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona University Hospital surrounded by his family. Chiwakiiulaahilish (Works with Prayer) was born Dec. 22, 1991 in Crow Agency, Montana, a son of Richard and Marilyn Chief. Kirk was a member of the Pentecostal Church, the Ties the Bundle and a child of the Big Lodge Clan.

Kirk grew up in the Lodge Grass area and attended school in Lodge Grass, Wyola, Pryor and Blanding Utah. After returning to the Wyola area Kirk met his love, Jonelle Smith. They lived their lives in Wyola, Lodge Grass and Hardin and later in 2015 moved to Fort McDowell, AZ to be with his in-laws. Kirk worked with ranchers and the barns in Paradise, AZ. While he was in Arizona, he worked as a laborer in the park of Fountain Hills and breaking horses in the Fort McDowell area. Kirk was a steer rider at the age of 10 and he got into bull riding at age 13. He also competed in the Rez Brawls during Crow Native Days. He was a member of the Two White Birds’ Family Relay Team. His hobbies were hunting and riding. Kirk was a loving and caring individual who liked to spend time with his brothers, visiting family and teasing and joking around with brothers, sisters, friends and family. He always left a smile on everyone’s face. Kirk was quick to lend a hand to people that needed help. He was respectful to his elders, very generous and never missed a chance to say thank you. He said I love you to everybody around him. Kirk was known as a brother’s keeper. He loved his kids so much and loved his niece “Princess” and his nephews as his own. Everyone knew he had a golden heart and he freely passed around his love. His humor and love will be missed.

His grandfather, James White, Jr.; uncles James White III, Garrell Duane Jeremy White and Jeffery Rock; his aunties Sarah Leah (White) Young Running Crane, Phalene Rose White, Marshalena Lefthand, and Wendy Hunts Arrow; his nephews Arturo Walks and Aljay Cole Young Running Crane, niece Kurtlyn Iron; grandfather Robert Wilson Chief and Hartford “Sonny” Black Eagle; great grandfather Allen Hunts Arrow; great grandmother Martha Carpenter; and Grandma Elizabeth White preceded Kirk in death.
