Howard C (Dud) Greening, 68, of 974 Valley Blvd., a resident of Elyria 30 years, died yesterday at 2 p.m. in Lorain Community Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Brownhelm.

Mr. Greening was an agent for Western and Southern Life Insurance Co. He was a member of First Methodist Church, a charter member of Outdoor Life Association and a member of Western and Southern Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Grace; two daughters, Mrs. John (Sue Carol) Backus, Vermilion Lagoons and Mrs. Douglas (Sally Fox, Ottawa, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Victor Schnaak of Brownhelm.

Friends will be received at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, Lorain tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Louis Bertoni, pastor of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion, will officiate. Burial will be n Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
