In Memoriam

On the 9th day of June, 1905, Mrs. Martha Callison quietly passed into that sleep which knows no awakening.

“Asleep in Jesus, oh, how sweet,
To be for such a slumber meet.”

She was 74 years of age, and was known by all here as “granny;” for to know her was to love her.

She was a member of the Leesville Baptist Church, and was a consistent and devoted Christian.

Her daughter, with whom she lived, is almost prostrate with grief. We would say to the sorrowing ones: Grive not, for your loved one has gone to a far better home than this, a Home eternal in the heavens, where there is no sickness, sorrow or death, but all is peace and love. Dear Old Granny, we dearly lovedd her and our heart is sad at parting, but we know that some day we shall meet around Gods throne and sing praises to Him throughout eternity. Her loving friend.

In Memory of Grandma Callison

Again the Death Angel has visited our midst and claimed as its own Mrs. Martha Callison. Everything was done to alleviate her suffering that loving hands and kind friends could do, but the Lord had claimed her as his own, and at 4 o’clock Friday morning, June 9, 1905, she peacefully passed into that beautiful home over there which she so often spoke of. She was a consistent member of the Leesville Baptist Church, where she has lived adevoted Christian for many years with her daughter, Mrs. McGuffin, who so patiently has stood by the bed of her mother so long and did everything for her comfort that a loving child could do. She leaves two daughters and one son, besides many relatives and friends who will miss her so much, for to known her was to love her. She was seventy-four years and a few months old.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in her home
Which never can be filled.
