Carolyn Hattie Hovanetz of Fredericksburg died Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home.

Carolyn was born in Ormrod, Pennsylvania and graduated from Allentown High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey, President of the Rosary and Altar Society; member of the Parrish Council and served as a Eucharistic Minister and lecturer at daily mass. She was the Secretariat in the Cursillo Movement of the Catholic Diocese of Paterson, NJ.

Carolyn also was a teaching assistant in the Lady of The Lake Elementary School system in Mt. Arlington.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister who loved her family and spent quality time with them. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Candice J. Hovanetz of Locust Grove and Cheryl Mortimer of Effort, PA; her two sons, Stephen and his wife, Kristi of Denton, TX and Michael of Fredericksburg, and his son, Michael Hovanetz of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Joseph T. Scaffidi and his wife, Barbara of Wall, NJ, Kenneth M. Concannon, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Burke, Marc Scaffidi and his wife, Patricia of Effort, PA, Colin Concannon and his wife, Carole of Fairfax, Kelsey Grace and Seth Charles of Denton, TX; great grandchildren, Joseph Scaffidi III, and Julia Scaffidi, both of Wall NJ, Ian, Sky, Brooke, and Tess Concannon of Burke, and Elizabeth Concannon of Fairfax; sister, Ruth Lorkowski of Summerfield, FL; three brothers, Dr. Gerald Hunsicker and his wife, Connie of Garden City, UT, William Hunsicker, Jr. of Allentown, PA, and Richard Hunsicker of Florida; and many wonderful nieces and nephews who were always special in her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph, who died September 28, 2002; daughter, Charlene J. Concannon; granddaughter, Amy Mellisa Concannon; and her parents, William and Marie Hunsicker.
