Duane Eugene Lyon, 86, of Catlett, died Monday, January 29th, 2018 at Prince William Hospital. He was born July 31st, 1931 in Binghamton, NY, to the late John and Helen Gunther Lyon.

He is survived by four children, Duana Stabile from North Palm Beach FL. and her significant other, Tom Wajdowicz; Lori Sisler from Amissville, VA; Richard Lyon from Bealeton, VA and his wife, Kathy; Sandra Kurtz, from Catlett VA and her husband, David; one brother, John Lyon, from Crossville, TN; Seven grandchildren, Jessica Good, Patricia Sisler, Kelly Aylor, Richard “R.J.” Lyon, David Kurtz Jr., Meagan Kurtz, and Bradley Kurtz; and five great-grandchildren, Kenneth Hamblin, Cale Hamblin, Abel Good, David Kurtz III, and Reighly Aylor. Duane will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lela (Gerry) Lyon, brother Robert Lyon, sister June Coolbaugh, and son-in law Mark Sisler.

Duane retired as a fire captain from Vint Hill Farms Station in 1987. He served in the United States Marine Corp. as a Staff Sergeant and was a Korean War Veteran. Earlier in life Duane was a farmer in Ouaquaga, NY.
