BARRETT-WORCESTER, Betty Lou Ritter, passed away peacefully Easter morning, April 1, 2018. Born July 8, 1927, Betty was a life-long Richmonder. The most fashionable great-grandma south of the river, Betty was known for her sense of style and was always the best dressed person in the room. A wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother - nothing gave her greater joy than her family. Betty lived a life of service. She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church for over 50 years and volunteered in the church office and as a Eucharistic minister. In addition, she spent countless hours tending to the sick. Betty was an active volunteer first at St. Mary's Hospital, then at Chippenham Hospital and most recently at the Cancer Center at St. Francis Hospital. She loved to play tennis and golf, she loved to go to the beach, and being part of a boat-loving family, she loved spending time near the water. Her zest for life was enviable. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas L. Barrett; her second husband, William F. Worcester; her son, Bruce S. Barrett; and her sister, Robin Giles. She is survived by her special friend, Jean Blanton; brother, James Ritter (Dixie); daughter-in-law, Kathie Barrett; daughter, Beverly Light (Harold); son, Timothy Barrett (Maggie); grandchildren, Susan Guidetti (Paul), Jason Barrett, Elizabeth Bilodeau (Jason), Bridget Casey, Colleen Casey, Emma Barrett; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611 (http://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ways-to-give/donate-now).
