Norman Albert Benson, 85, passed away on March 21st, 2018 at Tacoma General Hospital of an aortic dissection. Norman was born on the 13th of September 1932 in Pony, MT to Katherine and Albert Benson. He and his mother moved to the Seattle, WA area when he was age 12. He attended the University of Washington and later went on to join the US Air Force on August 19, 1956. He became a pilot and after 21 years of service, retired as Major NA Benson on August 31, 1976. He married his sweetheart, Patricia Joan Flippo, on January 30th, 1956 and they raised three children together. He was proceeded in death by his wife Patricia on August 15th, 2012. Norman is survived by his family, Richard, and Janyth, Scott, Stacy, and Brian, and also his seven grandchildren, Meghan, Jessie, Sara, Shaydi, Allyssa, Justin, and Matthew. He was very much loved and will forever be in our hearts. Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, April 11th at 10:00 am.
