Services for Roy William Householder of Ardmore, OK are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta, OK. Officiating will be his grandson, Gregory Householder. Born June 1, 1941 in Paris, TX, Mr. Householder was the son of Manuel George Householder and Georgia Mae Sneed Householder. He passed away Saturday, March 31, in Elmbrook Home, Ardmore, at the age of 76. Raised in Sulphur, OK, he and Katherine June Little were married in Gainesville, TX on October 23, 1961. Roy was a carpenter who also enjoyed woodworking and building crafts in addition to residential construction. He also traveled throughout the U.S. remodeling hotels. Roy was a rural mail carrier in the Burneyville, OK area for five years as well. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, making slingshots, and going to the lake to ski. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers and built a track for his grandchildren to race four-wheelers. As a member of the NRA, he loved hunting and shared that love with his grandchildren by teaching them to shoot guns with grasshoppers as targets. Roy enjoyed being with family and friends, but his greatest joy was being PaPa to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Householder, daughter, Cassandra Householder; sister, Betty Ann Butler; and son-in-law, Leonard Hartman. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kathy Householder of the home; son, Michael Roy Householder and wife Patricia of Oklahoma; daughter, Lisa Carol Hartman of Ardmore; five brothers, Manuel Householder and wife Florence of Idaho; Jackie Householder and Jimmy Householder and wife Phyllis of Ardmore, Leonard Householder of Wilson, OK, and Thurman Householder and wife Terri, also of Ardmore; two sisters, Flora Moore and husband Glenn of Ardmore and Lois Vernon and husband David of Wilson; eight grandchildren, Jillian and Anthony Coghill, Robin and Michael McNaughton, Amanda Householder, Dustie and Steven Upton, Gregory and Shannen Householder, Justin and Katie Householder, Cody Hartman, and Aaron Householder. Serving as honorary bearers are Daniel Jones, Steven Upton, Gregory Householder, Aaron Householder, Andy Buchanan, Justin Householder, and Cody Hartman.
