Don Russell Smith, Sr. age 75 of Fordyce and Warren, AR, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 surrounded by his family in the home of Jonathan Smith. He was the founder of Fordyce Mapping Service and was well known for his good nature, compassion and generosity.

He was born January 1, 1943 in Jacinto, Dallas County, AR, the son of the late T.P. and Gladys Frazier Smith. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two year mission in New York.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Melani Eileen Smith; brother, Elmer T. Smith; sister, Dianne Summerville (Bob); mother-in-law, Pearl Forrest (Charlie); brothers-in-law, David West, Jerry Forrest, Wesley Forrest.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Eileen Forrest Smith of Warren; son, Russ Smith (Shannon) of Bismarck; daughter, Kristi Johnson (Craig) of Peoria, AZ; son, French Smith (Betsy) of Fordyce; son, Jonathan Smith (Tabitha) of Mtn. View; brothers, Will Smith (Deanna) of Springville, UT, James Smith (Jeanie) of Fordyce; sister, Sue West of Mendon, UT; sister-in-law, Becky Smith of Quitman; brother-in-law, Bob Forrest (Sarah) of Hampton; sisters-in-law, Lynn Jenkins (Rodney) and Charlie Sue Taylor (Robert) of Warren; 2 Uncles; 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, April 3, at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, Ar. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM in Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Matthews officiating and Elder Dave Davison presiding. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
