Donald Paul Campbell passed away March 26, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Don was born Oct. 3, 1935, in Burley, Idaho, to Hazelton and Maria Bingham Campbell and was the youngest of 13 children.
Don spent his early years in Burley and traveling to the family homestead in Juniper, Idaho.
When Don was seven years old the family moved to Logan but continued to travel to Juniper.
He attended Logan City Schools and participated in school sports and girls.
Don met Mary Lou Daines when the family moved once more to Hyde Park. They kept steady companionship their senior year of high school.
Don proposed to Mary Lou on graduation night, and they were married Nov. 12, 1953, in the Logan LDS Temple. They decided "that two can live as cheap as one, and gosh it was sure a lot more fun." They were blessed with six children, raising them in Hyde Park, and continued to travel to various farms located in Juniper and Grace, Idaho. Don and Mary Lou passed down a positive, hard-work ethic, and no limits to what you could do to all their posterity. The farm was not just a job; it was a way of life.
He never let you think you couldn't do something you put your mind to, whether it was fixing a fence line or running a tractor.
His life was full of family trips to Canada, Wyoming and various adventurous places. He enjoyed the uplifting nature of working with the youth in his various church callings.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Sanford, Curtis, Grant, Lowell; sisters Jean, Ruby, Ellen, Mary, Inez and Ida; grandson Jason; great-grandsons Weston, Chance; sons-in-law Kent, Eric and Warren.
Don is survived by his wife of 63 years; children Charlotte Beck, Sid (Laree) Campbell, Shauna Leondhart, Kenneth (Melinda) Campbell, Susan Carling and Jennifer ( Paul) Parker; 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; sister Hazel and brother Melvin.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hyde Park Stake Center, 535 E. 200 South, followed by a funeral at noon. Interment will be in the Hyde Park City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
