Mr. Fields was a native of North Collins, N.Y., where he was born in 1848. He was united in marriage Nov. 29, 1869 with Miss Mary A. Setter, and came to Iowa the following year, settling on a farm near Liscomb. Mr. and Mrs. Fields lived there until they moved to their present home in 1893.
In addition to his widow Mr. Fields is survived by four sons and two daughters--Orley Fields, who lives at home; Asher Fields, of this city; Harley, of Liberty, Canada; Edward, of Hartford, S.D.; Mrs. Alta Sellers, seven miles north of the city; and Mrs. Grace Smith, of Brooklyn. Mrs. Emily Parker, of North Collins, N.Y. and Mrs. Emma Boyer, of Washington, are sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Fields home, burial following in the Vienna cemetery.
