Alberta Deringer, 101, peacefully passed away March 20, 2018. Known as "Bertie" or "GG", she was born in Toledo and lived most of her life in Sandusky. She loved Kelley's Island, Lakeside, walking at Cedar Point, fresh perch, and making chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Salem UMC, worked for many years at Metropolitan Life, and volunteered at Firelands Hospital, knitting lots of newborn caps. She will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, love of family, and preparation of wonderful breakfasts for friends and family headed to Cedar Point.
