SERVICES FOR RICHARD NEER

William Richard Neer 71, for the past 8 years a resident of Fulton, died Tuesday in Mercy hospital where he had been a patient for about three weeks.

The body is in the Fay Funeral Home. A prayer service there Friday afternoon, led by the Rev. George Maran of Fulton, will be followed by funeral services at 2:30 o'clock in the Christian Church in Erie with the pastor, the Rev. Paul Burdick, officiating. Flowers will be in charge of Mrs. Wilfred Ardapple and Mrs. Gordan Morgan.

Burial will be in the Erie cemetery with the following Fulton friends serving as casket bearers: Roy Bronkema, Edward Hoogheem, Thomas Woods, Earle Amman, Robert Wood, and Clarence Wierema.

Mr. Neer was born in Erie on May 1, 1879 the son of George and Harriett Witt Neer. He received his education in the Erie schools. On May 5, 1903, he was married in Newton township to Miss Loretta Hansen, who survives.

He was engaged in farming for some time and later served as a road patrolman. Since March of 1942 he was employed at the Martin Schipper Produce store, Fulton.

Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, Leroy, and Richard Neer of Rock Island, and Leonard Neer of Cordova; two daughters, Mrs. William Wiliiams (Iva) of Rock Island, and Mrs. Marjorie Erickson of Fulton. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Besse, Erie, and Mrs. Hannah Talcott, of Paw Paw; one brother, John Neer, of Clinton; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
