She spent many years keeping the books for the Senior Gleaners and managing part of the monthly food giveaway. She was an active member of the Nazarene church and enjoyed serving there by teaching Sunday School classes, leading the children's choir, cleaning the church facilities, and providing beautiful flower arrangements from her own yard each Sunday.
