Robert D. Curtis of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Buena Vista passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, in Arizona.

He was born on March 25, 1927, in Kewanee, Ill. He married Margaret Curtis and they were married for over 50 years prior to her passing.

Robert joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and was proud of being a WWII veteran. He retired from Ashland Chemical.

Robert and Margaret resided in Denver for 46 years before moving to Buena Vista to be closer to their daughter. He was a member of the Arvada Elk's Lodge and loved to golf and go to casinos.

Robert is survived by his son and wife of New York, New York; daughter and husband Twin Lakes, Colorado; three granddaughters; a great-grandaughter and special friend. He is preceded in death by his wife and son Glenn.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Runyan-Kent Funeral Home in Buena Vista. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Buena Vista.
