Thomas Quick was wounded and captured at Harrodsburg, KY on 10 Oct 1862 (Battle of Perryville). He was shipped to Vicksburg, MS on 12 Nov 1862 in exchange for a Union soldier. He died at Vicksburg on 11 Dec 1862.
In about 1866, Frances Woodward married Thomas's older brother, Alexander Quick whose first wife had died.
Children of Thomas and Frances:
1. Harriet Elizabeth Quick, b. 7 Aug 1843 GA
2. William S. Quick, b. abt. 1845 (also killed in CW)
3. Sarah Ann Quick, b. 1847 MS
4. Joel "James" Lafayette Quick, b. 13 Dec 1849
5. Emily Quick, b. 22 Jan 1852
6. John Alexander Quick, b. 25 Jul 1855
7. Nancy M. Quick, b. 1 Feb 1857
8. Sythe Rebecca Quick, b. 26 Jul 1860
Note: Thomas Quick was my great-great-grandfather. His daughter, Emily Quick Morgan, was my great-grandmother. In 2001, I had the opportunity to look through and old family trunk that belonged to Emily. I found some old family photos there. Among the photos was one of a Civil War soldier. I believe this soldier was Emily's father, Thomas. I hesitate to upload the photo to this page because I am not 100% sure that it is Thomas.
