Calvin R. 'Cal' Bauder, 86, died on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Bethune, Colorado. Cal was the oldest of seven children born to Albert and Emma Bauder on Dec. 15, 1930 in Bethune, Colorado, and he grew up on the family farm in Burlington, Colorado. After high school, he joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. Cal was a hardworking man who worked his whole life. He worked at IBM for 30-plus years as an engineer, and after he retired he turned his hobby of working with his hands into a handyman business. He enjoyed 30 years of being independent, helping people and spending time with his friends and family. Survivors included his wife of 62 years, Alice Bauder; his daughters, Patty Bauder, Holly Hamilton, Robin Anderson; son-in-law, Frank; his grandchildren, whom he was extremely proud of, Maggie Hamilton and Ryan Anderson. He was also survived by his siblings, Arnold Bauder, Darlene Bauder, and Geraldine Carson. Services were held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Chapel. *Published in Star-Telegram on May 23, 2017.
