YORK Maine July 18 Breckinridge 70 who served as assistant secretary of the treasury in President Woodrow Wilson's cabinet died here unexpectedly today of a heart ailment. A retired corporation lawyer, Breckinridge a grandson of John Breckinridge 14th vice president of the United States, was stricken at the home his family had maintained for nearly half a century and died before he reached a hospital. Breckinridge who was attached to the embassy at London during the World War, maintained a winter home at Santa Barbara Calif. He took an active part in community life having served as a deputy sheriff and at time of his death, he was chief observer of the civilian air raid warning service. He leaves his wife the former Miss Isabella Goodrich of the Goodrich Rubber Company interests, a daughter Mrs Jefferson Patterson wife of the first secretary of the embassy at Lima Peru, two sons, Charles Breckinridge New York attorney, and Robert Breckinridge of York and a sister Mrs John Ten Eyck of New York City.
