Mary Aliff Jackson was the second wife of John Garland Doster. He married to her sister Sarah Jackson March 3, 1865 in Coweta Co., Ga. She died 1866 and he married Mary June 1869 in Newman Co., Ga. John served in the Confederate Army from Georgia. Mary applied for a widows pension in 1905 in Texas but it was denied because she was not a citizen of Texas in 1880. Prior to 1920 she and her son William and his family moved to Beckham Co., Ok and the 73 year old Mary applied for a Confederate - widows pension in 1921. She received Pension 3897 - Application 4729. She was the mother of two sons: John T and William J.
