Joyce Louise Pomeroy, of Kendall, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Joyce was born July 25, 1926 in Kendall, the daughter of the late Clyde and Phoebe Leversee and had lived in the Kendall area for the majority of her life. Joyce had worked as a hairdresser for many years and also enjoyed square dancing. She loved to cook, bake and being a homemaker. Joyce was known for her wonderful coffee cakes and coconut cream pies. Surviving are her 2 children, Russ (Chris) Pomeroy of Gobles and Cindy (Dave) Peterson of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Todd (Wanda), Jesse and Chapin Pomeroy, Sara (Jeff) Pomeroy - Bartells, Heather (Josh) Raymond, Bryan (Kayla) Peterson, Matt Peterson; 6 great grandchildren; her sister June Hustafa. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Kenneth who passed in 2009, her daughter Judy Gunter, 3 brothers, Gordon, Ray and Guy Leversee, a sister Beatrice Lietaert and an infant brother Kenneth Leversee and her parents. Following her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will meet friends on Monday, March 26 at the Kendall United Methodist Church from 11 AM until time of memorial service at noon with a luncheon immediately following. Private burial will take place at a later date in Kendall Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of South West Michigan or the Gobles School Foundation.
