--Son of Noah Bryant Lane and wife Martha Skinner. The family lived in Henry County in 1900 and in Dodge County in 1910.
--Occupation: He worked at General Asbestos Rubber Company in N. Charleston, SC in 1918. Robert was a Farmer in Newton County, GA in 1920. Then he moved his family to Eatonton for a few years. They lived in Baldwin County in 1930, where he was a Milkman at a dairy. He then moved his family to Savannah, where he worked in a sugar refinery.
--He married Sheppie T. Horne in Dodge County, GA on Dec. 29, 1912. They were parents of 6 children, names listed in wife's memorial.
--Still a resident of Savannah, he was apparently visiting a daughter in Concord, NC, when he became ill with pneumonia and died there.
