Early Life: Jay was born September 18, 1931, in Tremonton, Utah, to Aarl Roberts Bennett and Gladys Hannah Sparks Bennett, the third of six children.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: He served as a missionary in the Northwestern States Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Brigham Young University and served honorably in the United States Army. He married Ada Mae Wild, of Alpine, Utah, on September 16, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. An electrical engineer, Jay retired from Honeywell in 1992 after 25 years and assignments in Minneapolis, Minnesota; St. Petersburg, Florida; and Redlands, California. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, Jay held various leadership callings, including: bishop, high councilor, stake presidency counselor, and temple sealer in the Orlando Florida Temple and Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple. Jay Lyn Bennett passed away March 18, 2018, at home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was 86.
Survived By: His beloved wife, Ada; son, Scott Bennett, of Monrovia, CA; daughters: April Bennett Stirling (Don), of Salt Lake City, UT; and Wendy Bennett Rogers (Donald), of Cedar Hills, UT; seven wonderful grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Karen and Janele.
