CALEB P. HABEGGER, DIES EARLY TODAY
Native of This Community, 43, Dies At Ethridge, Tenn.

Caleb P. Habegger, 43, a former resident of this community, died at 6:30 this morning at his home near Ethridge, Tenn. Death was due to cancer. Mr. Habegger had ailed for many months and was in critical condition for some time. He went into a coma last evening and never regained consciousness. He had suffered greatly for some time.

Habegger first became ill about two and a half years ago. He submitted to surgery, recovered and returned to work but soon began failing again. He was a carpenter, a trade he had followed while living in this community. He and his family moved to Tennessee a few years ago (handwritten: 1947)

Mr. Habegger was born in Monroe township, September 6, 1908, the son of Peter and Rosina Schwartz Habegger. He resided on a farm with his brother, Enoch, 3 1/4 miles north of Berne, along highway 27, before moving to Tennessee. He was married to Susie Schrock, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Richard, Howard and Edward, and a daughter, Esther, all at home. The following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Dan P. Steury, Mrs. Chris P. Steury, Mrs. David P. Steury, Mrs. Henry Graber, all of this community; Mrs. Jacob C. Mazelin, Ethridge, Tenn., and Enoch Habegger, also of Ethridge. The parents, a brother, Joseph P. Habegger, and two sisters, Mrs. Jacob L. Inniger and Mrs. N. N. Schrock, preceded in death.
