Julia Chandler Bishop Alexander , 84, died Sunday evening at Meadowbrook Manor.
Mrs. Alexander was born in Durham, daughter of the late Charlie C. and Nannie Gooch Chandler. She was a lifelong resident of Durham and was secretary-treasurer of Durham Blue Printers for 25 years. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, N. Marvin Bishop, III, and his wife, Claudia, of Durham; two grandchildren, N. Marvin Bishop, IV, and his wife, Toni of Raleigh, and C. Brian Bishop and his wife, Sharon, of Durham; three great-grandchildren, Robert, Brandon and Grant Bishop; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, N. Marvin Bishop, Jr., who died in 1962.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edgar Ferrell, Jr. and the Rev. Harold Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Chandler, Vic Pickett, Jimmy Ferrell, Randy Bishop, Harold Craig, and Wesley Ray.
Arrangements are with Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
