La Claire A. Marsteller, one of the oldest and best known residents of Fauquier county, has been laid to rest near his home, "Mount Sterling," near Warrenton, where his death occurred last Friday. The deceased was in the seventy-ninth year of his age and had served in the Confederate army, as a member of Company A, Fourth Virginia Infantry. He was a son of the late Samuel Arell Marsteller, of Prince William County, and leaves three children, O. La Claire Marsteller, of Washington, Philip Marsteller, of Warrenton, and Mrs. Edmund Gray, of "Mount Sterling." The late Mr. Marsteller was a well known figure in Alexandria, and was a brother of the late Mrs. J. C. Milburn, of this city.
