John Albert Yeisley, 75 years, 1 month, 18 days old, passed away on Jan. 2, 2018 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
John was born Nov. 15, 1942 in Douglas County, Mo., to Claude and Neva Dewhirst Yeisley.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and would have served during the Vietnam War.
John was retired from working at Spauldings and Rawlings Sporting Goods Co., in Ava for 35 years.
John was a Christian and had attended church as a young boy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, country and gospel bluegrass music, and loved to work hard. John never missed a day of work.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Frieda Faye Harper, and a niece, Diane Short.
He is survived by one son, Ted, of Ava, Mo.; one sister, Naomi Short, Rupert, Idaho, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for John will be Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel. Ava, Mo. A visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Arden Cemetery, Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
