Tera L.”Tead” Ard, 84, of Jayess, passed away, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Lawrence County Nursing Home in Monticello.
She was born August 10, 1933 in Walthall County. She was the daughter of Hollis Ella Morgan Dunaway.
She was retired from Kellwood in Monticello. She graduated from Carter’s Creek school and loved to play basketball. In her younger days you could find her and her husband, James playing basketball in the basketball league in Ruth. Ms. “Tead” loved flowers and enjoyed sewing. One of her favorite things was watching wildlife and other animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James L. Ard; her daughter, Gail Ard Dunaway; her brother, Jody Dunaway and three sisters, Geneva Cothern, Vera Mae Boyd and Odeara Greer.
She is survived by her two sons, James and his wife, Linda Ard of Monticello, and Rocky Ard of Jayess; a daughter-in-law that she loved like a daughter, Brandy Ard of Jayess; six grandchildren, Brad Ard, Chris Ard, Drew Ard, Cody Ard, Chad Dunaway and Gracie Ard; three great-grandchildren, Amber Dunaway, Ashlyn Ard and Addison Ard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Wednesday at Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, MS from 5PM until 8PM and Thursday from 10AM until services at 11AM with Rev. Jimmy Harvey and Rev. Terry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Providence cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Ard, Chris Ard, Drew Ard, Cody Ard, Chad Dunaway and Dunn Greer.
