Kauffman.- Milo, 90, former Hesston College president, died on Apr. 19 in Hesston, Kans. He was born 13 February 1898 near Harrisonville, Missouri, USA to Levi C. and Rebecca Sharp Kauffman. He spent his boyhood on a farm in North Dakota. He received the BA degree from Hesston College, 1922 - 1926; the B.D. degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1928 - 1930; the MA degree from McCormick Theological Seminary, 1930 - 1931, and the STD degree from Pikes Peak Seminary, 1940. He married Clara Fricke of Chicago on Oct. 3, 1931 who survives. They were parents of nine children. He was president 1932-1951 of Hesston College and was also an evangelist and served as pastor of Hesston Mennonite Church, as bishop in South Central Conference, and as moderator of the Mennonite Church. He spent his retirement years speaking and writing on the subject of stewardship and representing Hesston College in various ways.
