Kenneth Charles Bartholf, 82, of Lower Burrell died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. Born May 22, 1923, in Kittanning to the late Harry M. and Mildred A. Rupert Bartholf, he moved to Arnold in 1929. A 1940 graduate of Arnold High School, he was an Arnold and New Kensington resident until moving to Lower Burrell in 1957. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Bartholf was a machinist at Alcoa at its research lab along Freeport Road in New Kensington for 39 years before retiring in 1978. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion in Lower Burrell, a member of the Alcoa 25-Year Club, a Boy Scout leader in Arnold in the 1960, and was founder of the Tri-County Trout Club in New Kensington. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time at his second home in Warren. He is the beloved father of Larry Charles (N. Carol) Bartholf of Highland Village, Texas, Cheryl L. Bartholf, Sue E. (Larry) Peoples and Jayne A. Bartholf, all of Lower Burrell; the beloved grandfather of Larry C. Bartholf Jr., Shawn and Cody Peoples; the beloved great-grandfather of Zackary C. Bartholf; and the brother of Lucille Bailing of Sharon and Lois (Dean) Tebo of Tucson, Ariz. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Madalyn B. Wyant Bartholf, in 1994; and brother Harry Rupert Bartholf. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., New Kensington, where a service will be held Friday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. Private burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery.
