Bernard was born in Marion to the late Fredrick Butcher and Virginia (Rivers) Butcher. He lived most of his life in Marion.
He was previously employed at Active Products. He was a member of the Branson Club and Friendship Club. Uncle Tom loved being with his family, taking walks and playing bingo.
Survivors include a sister, Janice L. (David) Goodman, Marion; nieces and nephews, John Dennis Carrico, Ann (Steven) Tisdale, Mike (Staci) Carrico, Sheila (Rod) Mayo, Brent (Beth) Carrico; great-nephews, John (Kayla), Shaun, Matthew and Logan; great-nieces, Cara, Danielle, Jordan, Judith, Haylee, Amanda, Marlee and Morgan; and several aunts and uncles, including special aunts, Addie and Katie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry.
