JOE M. HANNI

Born to Reuben and Florence Hanni.

When Joe was 16 his family moved to Sumner where he graduated from Sumner High School in 1944.

Served in the US Navy during the end of WWII on a Mine Sweeper off the Philippines.

While attending the University of Utah, Joe met and married his loving wife, Afton, from Salt Lake City. They spent 55 wonderful years together.

Joe was very involved in the community: he was a Sumner Rotarian, Daffodil Parade Board Member and was the founder of Puyallup Valley Bank and the Bank of Sumner (Frontier Bank).

He was actively involved in the LDS Church. He served as a Bishop in the early 60's.

He loved to play golf and rarely missed a Saturday golf game.

His kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
