MONTICELLO – Sylvia A. Foster, 71, went to be with her Lord July 24, 2007, with her family at her side, at her home. She was born May 6, 1936, in Monticello, the daughter of Albert and Hilda (Crouse) Briggs. Sylvia cooked for SAD 29 for 32 years. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eugene Foster; three children, Norma and her husband, David Violette, Deverne and his wife, Laura Foster, and Lugene Foster, all of Monticello; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Dana and his wife, Dolores Briggs; one sister, Phyllis and her husband, Elmer Beaton, all of Monticello; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and one granddaughter, Michelle. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Jewell Cemetery, Monticello, with Pastor Darrell Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Calvery Pentecostal Church, care of Bowers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 579, Houlton, ME 04730.
