He graduated from Ganado High School, attended Junior College and trade schools. He joined the US Navy in 1967 and spent 3 years in the Navy, including 2 tours of Vietnam. In 1970, Wayne began his career working in chemical/industrial plants in the electrical maintenance departments. After 39 years with Alcoa, Union Carbide and Dow Chemical, he retired in 2009 as a Maintenance Activity Coordinator.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Nancy Thedford Johnson.
At Wayne's request a private service was held at Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita, Texas.
Services are under the direction and personal care of Grace Funeral Home.
