Clarence married Vesta Martin in October 1937. Vesta was a graduate of a high school in Jacksonville, Florida and was employed in the office of an insurance company in Jacksonville at the time of their marriage and following.
Clarence usually came to Minonk during the summer months to visit his parents and to help his brothers on the farms. He planned to come to Minonk following the dismissal of school in the summer of 1941, but took ill and was admitted to the hospital in Jacksonville. He had an appendectomy and was in the hospital for three weeks. During this time, a blood clot formed on his lung, but it was thought to have been dissolved. Instead, it moved to his back, and he passed away at the age of 30. His body was returned to Minonk, IL and is buried in the Minonk cemetery. Clarence and Vesta had no children.

Clarence was a school teacher in Florida, the other three boys worked the three farms that Uncle Bert had, Uncle Bert had a home in Minonk Illinois, and that's where Grandmother Olive Kaune's lived during her married life, at Bert's death the three sons each got a farm and Grand mother received the house in Town. Clarence died early in life, Grand mother was married to Uncle Bert about that time, Clarence and his wife came to visit his father and while they were there his wife Vesta was smoking a cigarette and his father was so upset that he disinherited his own son Clarence from the Estate.
