Richard "Fuzz" Neal Gatian, age 79, of Granville, died early Monday morning, March 5, 2018 at Mon Health Medical Center.

He was born June 20, 1938 in Booth, WV, a son of the late Roy A. and Stella (Boggs) Gatian.

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 38 years, Jaclyn Dawn (Snyder) Gatian, whom he married August 5, 1979; his four children, Kimberly Nichols & husband Brett, Rick Gatian, Rob Gatian & his wife Renee, and Brad Gatian & his wife Becca; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Judith Gatian Wolfe; his former spouse and mother to his children, Cinda L. Ward Gatian; his brother-in-law, W.M. “Bill” Snyder; an aunt, Gertrude Gentile, and a cousin, Clyde Boggs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy A.” Jake” Gatian, Jr.

Fuzz worked most of his life as an industrial steel painter, who specialized in bridges and tower lines, until his retirement. Then, he began working maintenance for 10 years at Skyview and Brookview Apartments. He also worked for a brief time at Kinderhaus before finally retiring at the age of 74.

He enjoyed camping & fishing, but mainly enjoyed a nice cold beer with his friends all through his travels, but mostly with his friends at the Dellslow American Legion Post 174. He also enjoyed watching westerns and M.A.S.H.

Friend may join the family to honor Fuzz’s life & legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave, Morgantown, on Thursday March 8th from 11 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home.
