GASTON- Ashley (Bud) W. Spigener, Jr. was called home Thursday, November 14, 2013. Bud was born November 12, 1939 in Calhoun County to the late Ashley W. and Annelle Inabinet Spigener of St. Matthews, SC. Bud was predeceased by his brothers: Laney Shuler Spigener and Paul Spigener. Bud was a graduate of St. Matthews High School and enjoyed a career in sales of construction equipment. Mr. Spigener served and retired from the SC Army National Guard after twenty eight years of service as a helicopter crew chief out of McEntire National Guard Base. Bud was a member of the Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his former wife, Freda Rucker Spigener, his son, Scott Ashley Spigener, his daughter in-law, Kimberly Goodwin Spigener, and two grandsons, Ashley W. Spigener, III and Brice Goodwin Spigener. Visitation will be held at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church (210 Andrews Chapel Road, Swansea, SC 29160) on Saturday, November 16 from 10:00-11:00 AM with memorial service to follow in the sanctuary at 11:00 AM.
