MARY J. NICHOLSON DIES AT HOSPITAL
Old Resident of Quincy is Summoned
After a Week's Illness With
Typhoid Fever.

Mrs. Mary J. Nicholson of 516 North Fifth street passed away this morning at Blessing hospital of typhoid fever after an illness of one week. Mrs. Nicholson was 77 years of age and when stricken with the disease failed rapidly until death came.

Mrs. Nicholson was born in South Carolina, but had lived in Quincy nearly all her life, coming here as a child. Her husband, John Nicholson, died more than thirty years ago and for a number of years she had lived alone in her home on North Fifth street. Mrs. Nicholson was a devout Christian woman, a careful student of the bible and attended the Christian church. She had many warm friends, both in the city and the country, all of whom mourn her passing.

She is survived by four children, three sons and one daughter. The children are John of St. Louis, Bert of Lodi, Cal., Roy of Colfax, Wash., and Mrs. Emma Davidson of Clarinda, Ia. She also leaves seven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Belle Castle and Mrs. Nan Allen, both of Camp Point.
