Preceding her in death were her parents, William Roger Mabry and Helen Ashe Mabry, husband, Sam ‘Red’ Sharpe, Jr., and her oldest son, Sam Jarnigan Sharpe III, as well as two brothers, Roger Mabry and John Joseph Mabry.
Gertrude is survived by her son, William Richard (Rick) Sharpe, daughter-in-law Karen W. Sharpe, grandchildren Will Sharpe, Jr., Carly Sharpe; daughter-in-law Rebecca Sharpe and granddaughter Ashlee Sharpe.
Gertrude was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. In her retirement, she was an active volunteer with the Ladies of Charity, and was a daily communicant at Holy Ghost.
Receiving of friends will be held at ROSE MORTUARY BROADWAY CHAPEL on Sunday, March 11, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, March 12, 2018 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 1041 N. Central St., Knoxville, TN with Father John Dowling officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
