Lamar graduated with a Bachelors from University of West Florida. He served his country with the United States Army. Most will remember Lamar in his association with Firestone, a business he owned and operated in DeFuniak Springs for some 50 plus years until the time of his passing.
Lamar was predeceased by his parents, William Purlis Alford and Myra Bell Murphy Alford; an infant son, Alan Wayne Alford; and his wife, Faye Blanchard Alford.
Among survivors are two daughters, three brothers, one sister, and two granddaughters.
Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00am, Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Jerry Evans Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00am, Saturday, January 27, 2018, in Jerry Evans Chapel, with Reverend Tim Burnham officiating.
Burial followed in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
