Inez Shoopman VanAllen, 82, of Zanesville , died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Willow Haven Care Center. She was born June 29, 1923 in Larmer, Arkansas, a daughter of the late William Newton Sr. And Martha Angeline Davis Cowan . She was a Municipal Court Bookkeeper for the State of Ohio, bookkeeper for Zanesville Country Club, worked for many years for Dr. Donald Merker as secretary and receptionist, was a member of Market Street Baptist Church and a active member of Eastern Star 485 serving as Past Worthy Matron. Surviving are a son, Terry Joe(Audrey Lynn)Shoopman of Marietta, Georgia and two grandsons, Gregory James Shoopman and Douglas Matthew Shoopman, both of Marietta, GA, two sisters, Maude(Victor)Henninger of Kirbyville, TX and Margaret(Donald)Adams of Russellville, AR. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Eugene Shoopman who died in 1963 and David VanAllen who died in 1991, a son, Staff Sgt. Gary Michael Shoopman, three sisters, Ama, Anna and Minnie and three brothers, Verlin, Roy and W.N. Cowan Jr.. Eastern Star 485 will hold services at the funeral home.
