Vada B. Keck, age 85, of Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services, Carlisle.

She was born January 3, 1933 in Shippensburg to the late Victor and Emma (Whisler) Barrick and was the widow of Holbert R. Keck, her husband 63 years.

Vada was a 1950 graduate of Carlisle High School and worked at the Cumberland County Agriculture Extension Office for 51 years before retiring. She was a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Vada was also faithful in transporting her mother to weekly services at Barnitz UMC until her mother’s passing.

She is survived by: her brother, Clyde Barrick of Carlisle; brother-in-law, Donald Stitt of Carlisle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Vada was preceded in death by her sister, Mable Stitt, infant sister, Fern and sister-in-law, Phyllis Barrick.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Matthew Plant officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barnitz United Methodist Church, 23 Church Lane, Carlisle, PA 17015.
