Along with her husband, Courtney, Lavon is survived by her daughters: Ronda (Bernie) Sprouse, of Clinton, South Carolina; Robin (Ken) Carpenter, of Liberty Center, Ohio; Rita Robertson, of Liberty Center, Ohio; Ruth (Dan) Middleton, of Napoleon, Ohio; a son: Courtney (Karen) Patton, of Liberty Center, Ohio; grandchildren: Amber, Mindy, Shawn, Susan, Mike, Davis, Megan, Tyler, Heather, JC, Melanie, Michelle, James, Bethany, Melissa and Scott; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a daughter-in-law: Robin Patton, of Napoleon, Ohio; Special Family Member: Gary Gray, of West Bloomfield, Michigan, along with a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Virgil and Irene, Lavon was preceded in death by sons: Eugene Patton and Virgil “Scott” Patton; brothers: Melvin, Virgil, Lowell, and Wayne Kigar; and sisters: Elvira Chamberlain, Rose Reed, Nina DeBoer, Lucinda Glick and Margaret Glanz.
Lavon was a graduate of Liberty Center High School and a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church. Lavon loved being a homemaker, which allowed her to spend time with her children and later on with her grandchildren. Lavon loved children so dearly that for numerous years he providing babysitting for over 160 children. Lavon enjoyed traveling to South Carolina and Florida and especially loved gardening, canning and cooking, however most of all her family was her true pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Visitation for Lavon will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wright-Hanneman Funeral Home, 302 E. Maple Street, Liberty Center, Ohio, 43532, Tele: 419-533-2471. Funeral Services for Lavon will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church 9-474 County Road V, Liberty Center, Ohio, 43532, with Pastor Brad Martin officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Morrison Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in Lavon’s honor may be gifted to either the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
