Capt. Gregory A. Warner
Funeral services for Capt. Gregory A. Warner, 48, who died Monday following a heart attack suffered shortly after a fire, will be held at 2:30 P. M. Thursday at the Holman & Lutz Colonial mortuary, with Dr. Lansing E. Kempton of Trinity Episcopal church officiating. There will be vault entombment at Portland crematorium.
Capt. Warner was born January 22, 1898, at Grand Ledge, Mich., and had been a resident of Portland for 40 years. A veteran of World War I, he was appointed in the fire bureau in May, 1924, and was serving as an inspector in the fire marshal's office when he was promoted to junior captain in 1932.
On December 23 he reported with his company, engine 6, 2401 N. W. 23d avenue, to fight a fire and suffered a heart attack at the station on his return.
Survivors are his widow, Ella; his mother, Mrs. Minerva Warner; a brother, A. Stuart Warner of San Pedro, Cal.; and two sisters, Mrs. H. M. Slauson, Tillamook, and Mrs. Lee Estman, Garden Home.
