Rodney Clyde Schriner was born July 12, 1942 in Franklin to Doris Elaine (Hughes) & Arley Schriner and departed this life April 26, 1953 near Benkelman in a highway accident, which also claimed the life of his mother.
Rodney attended the public schools in Franklin, Nebraska, Cheyenne, Wyoming and Brush, Colorado and was in the fourth grade. He was a Cub Scout and member of the Sunday School.
Rodney will be remembered as a typical boy, happy with a pleasing disposition.
He is survived by his sister, LaDonna Jean of Alliance; his father Arley Schriner of Lincoln; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Earl Hughes of Franklin and Mrs. Flossie Schriner of Lincoln.
Funeral rites were held Thursday morning at the Franklin Congregational Church and were conducted by Rev. Kenneth Baker. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Virgil Rinehart, Lloyd Bradshaw, Glen Splattstoesser, Keith Lantis, Rex Boyce, Eldon Nyburg, Gerald Brophy, Melvin Norton, Earnest Spargo, and Henry Huchteman.

Rodney died three months before his 11th birthday. Rodney is the Maternal grandson of Earl & Frances Elvira Strayer, John Schriner & Flossie Minnick, great grandson of Cyrus "Henry" & Margaret Ellen (Niceschwander) Strayer. 2nd great grandson of Miley & Elmira Strayer and 2nd great grandson of John and Catharine (Frazier) Niceschwander, and 3rd great grandson of Martin & Rachel (Ralya) Strayer.
