Deep Brook-Mrs. George E. Ditmars of Deep Brook died suddenly at Digby General hospital Sunday where she had been a patient for two weeks. She would have celebrated her 83rd birthday Wednesday. Born in Marblehead, Mass., she was the former Carrie Lambertson, daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (D'Arcy) Lambertson. While on a visit with relatives to Deep Brook in 1907, Mrs. Ditmars married and resided here since that time. An expert needle woman, she worked at her craft until a few months ago. Surviving are two songs Joseph E. and G. Wellington, both of Deep Brook, two sisters, Ida (Mrs. John Evans) of Lynn, Mass. and Marion (Mrs. Nelson Betts) of Chelsea Vt., four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband predeceased her in 1938. The remains are at James' Funeral Home, Digby. The funeral will be held from St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Deep Brook, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. W. H. Logan officiating. Burial will be in St. Edward's church yard, Clementsport.
