Margaret Lee (Ballinger) Harris went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday March 2, 2018 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the age of 72 years after a brief illness. Born to William Lawrence and Dora Mae (Bowles) Ballinger on Aug. 14th 1945 in Nocona Texas, Margaret spent the beginning years of her life in and around the Nocona area, going to school and graduating from the Nocona district.
Margaret worked various jobs in her hometown before moving to Irving, Texas to work for Alliance Insurance and then eventually living in Okla. City Okla. for 46 years while working as an income tax preparer and bookkeeper for several agencies. Margaret her husband Tom and son Lee had recently moved back to Nocona in retirement.
Margaret married Tom Harris on September 23, 1966 in Nocona and they celebrated their 50th anniversary together in September of 2016. Tom and Margaret have one son Lee Harris residing at Grace Care Center in Nocona.
“Aunt Maggie” as she was known, was loved dearly by so many of her family, young and old alike. The children, which were especially close to her heart always had anticipation for what wonderful prize she would create for them on their special days. She always remembered each child as if they were her own.
Margaret and Tom were gifted with a son Lee, who was the love and dedication of her life, caring for his needs tirelessly during a period of forty five years in their home before allowing the Grace Care facility in Nocona to take that responsibility from their hands.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and one brother J.O. “Sam” Ballinger and just recently by her husband Tom Harris. She is survived by her son Lee Harris of Nocona and sister in law Martha Johnson of Nocona, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces throughout Texas and Oklahoma.
Family will receive visitors at Scott-Morris funeral chapel from five to six on Saturday March 3rd, with services to be held after a 1:00 luncheon on Sunday March 4th at 2:30pm in Molsbee Chapel church with interment at the Molsbee Chapel cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Molsbee Chapel cemetery maintenance fund are requested.
