Edwin Berger of Alleyton Buried At Mentz Monday
Funeral services for Edwin Berger, 62 year old Alleyton farmer who died at 2 p.m. last Friday, were held at the Columbus Funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday, followed by interment in Mentz [Zoar] Lutheran cemetery, Rev. G. Wolf officiating. Pallbearers were his nephews. Mr. Berger, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Berger, was born at Alleyton on January 4, 1881, and spent his entire life in the community. He was a member of the Lutheran church and of Hermans Sons lodge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Meyer Berger, three sons, Emmett, Daniel and James Berger, a sister, Mrs. Mathaylie Theumann, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Edwin Dunlavy and Mrs. Mary Kansteiner.
