Raymond was born October 8, 1933 in Orrville, Ohio to Forest and Inez (Grubber) Harmon. He was a member of Journey Life Center and worked as a baker for Mansfield Bakery and retired from Buckeye Bakery. On May 2, 1952, he married Dorothy Jean Shaw Harmon, and she survives. Raymond enjoyed cooking out with his family and baking at home. Farming was his dream. His hobby was being a machinist and fiddling with his tools in the basement. Raymond loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and will be sadly missed by all.
Along with his wife, Raymond is survived by seven children, Valerie (Warren) Tate of Galion, Laura (Ken) Flegal of Tennessee, Terri Layland, Raymond (Linda) Harmon, Jon Harmon, Denise (Brian) Baldridge, and Michelle Harmon all of Mansfield; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; four siblings, Elsie Hall of Mansfield, Rawlins Harmon of Florida, Eugene Harmon, and Gordon Harmon, both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, numerous brothers and sisters, and one daughter, Sherry Cook.
Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Philippi officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery on President's Day. Memorial contribution may be made to the family.
